Convoys and aircraft belonging to Orion International have been observed crossing into the Kharzan Region, marking the corporation’s first confirmed military deployment in support of the United Nations humanitarian mission approved earlier this month.
Footage shared by civilians and independent journalists shows Orion armoured vehicles, logistics convoys, and transport aircraft moving into staging areas before entering the region. Corporate officials have confirmed the deployment but declined to disclose the size of the force or the precise locations of its operations, citing operational security.
In a brief statement, Orion said the deployment is intended to provide logistical support, transport, infrastructure assistance, and security for United Nations personnel operating throughout Kharzan.
The arrival follows weeks of increasing instability across the region, where armed insurgent groups continue to contest key settlements and transport corridors following the collapse of local government authority. While humanitarian teams have begun assessing conditions on the ground, several areas remain inaccessible due to ongoing security concerns.
International observers have cautiously welcomed Orion’s involvement, pointing to the corporation’s extensive logistical capabilities and previous experience operating in unstable regions. Others, however, have questioned the growing reliance on private military organisations to support international relief efforts.
The United Nations has reiterated that its mission remains strictly humanitarian and stated that all participating security elements are expected to operate within internationally agreed rules of engagement.
Aid convoys are expected to move deeper into northern Kharzan over the coming days as assessment teams continue evaluating conditions for what officials hope will become a sustained humanitarian operation.
